As stated earlier, the registration of a co-operative enterprise is compulsory. In order to get a co-operative society registered, an application in the prescribed form must be submitted to the registrar of Co-operative Societies of the State in which the society's registered office is to be situated. Any ten persons above the age of 18 years and having common interest may submit a joint application for being formed into a co-operative society.
