Business operation have caused considerable changes in ecological balance and natural environment of the country. The application of modern technology in industry, it is argued, leads to rapid economic growth at a huge social cost as measured by the deterioration of physical environment, i.e., air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution, etc. The nature and extent of such costs are being assessed by biologists, ecologists, sociologists and conservationists. A greater emphasis is now being placed on the social responsibilities of business. Now a business enterprise has to calculate net social profitability of its ventures. In this calculation business must consider the physical environment changes such as the existing forest wealth, possibility of artificial rain, exploitation of sea products like fish, the health hazards out of pollution etc.
